Camp coordination and camp management (CCCM) is critical to ensuring dignity, safety and protection for the most vulnerable people displaced by the conflict in Yemen.

IOM’s CCCM programming aims to improve the living conditions of displaced families living in informal and formal sites, collective centres, communal buildings and spontaneous settlements.  IOM also manages many sites for displaced persons across Yemen, including Al Jufainah, Yemen’s largest displaced site which hosts over 60,000 individuals.

With a strong focus on physically improving and caring or maintaining sites, the CCCM response reduces exposure to natural hazards and disease among site residents.

Technical advice and capacity building are also provided to authorities acting as camp administration, IDP camp committees and national non-governmental organizations working in site management.

CCCM teams also support IOM’s teams working in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), shelter and non-food items (SNFI), cash, health and protection interventions in these sites, and mobilize external partners to ensure additional support is provided.

In 2022, IOM reached more than 182,000 people with camp management and camp coordination support.
